At our Ofsted-registered before and after school club, we’re proud to provide a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for children from Westfield Infant School and Old Hall Junior School. We offer a seamless wraparound service, including walking children to and from Old Hall Junior School each day to support busy families. Every member of our team holds an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training, and we always have paediatric first aid trained staff on site to ensure children’s wellbeing. Founded in 2022 by Jo and Nicky—experienced childminders with over a decade of dedicated childcare experience—our club is built on a genuine passion for supporting children’s growth, confidence, and happiness.
Meet the team
Jo - Co-owner/Manager
Hey, I'm Jo - co-owner of The Kidz Lounge alongside Nicky. As a mum of three children who are growing up far too quickly, family life is always busy and full of sport, school events and plenty of football. Outside of The Kidz Lounge, I love supporting Chesterfield FC, watching my children play sports (mainly football), going to the gym and enjoying long dog walks. With many years of experience working with children and families, creating a safe, welcoming and home-from-home environment for children is something I'm truly passionate about.
Gracie - playworker
Hi I'm Gracie. Ive been part of the team since May 2025. I like working at The Kidz Lounge because every day is different and rewarding. I enjoy helping children feel happy, safe and supported while they learn and grow. It's nice being able to build positive relationships with the children and see their confidence develop over time.
Nicky - Co-owner/Manager
Hi, I'm Nicky I'm one of the co-founders of The Kidz Lounge and previously worked as a childminder locally whilst raising my two daughters. Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends, hosting get togethers and making memories with my precious granddaughter. Life is always busy with Bodi, my cheeky spaniel who always keeps us entertained. I'm passionate about building strong relationships with families and creating a club where children love to be.
Shelby - play worker
Hi, I'm Shelby! I joined Kidz Lounge this year and I absolutely love spending time with the children. Whether that's chatting, playing or helping them have fun and feel comfortable. Outside of work, I keep busy caring for a variety of animals on our small holding including sheep, a goat, ducks and chickens. I'm also a proud mum to my two young daughters, so creating a fun, caring and nurturing environment comes naturally to me.
Jenny - Playworker
Hello, my name is Jenny. I have been part of the team for the past 3 years. I love working here to help children to socialise together and have fun through play while providing peace of mind for parents. As a small, dedicated team, we support each other and share our creative ideas and have lots of fun too! In my spare time, I enjoy long dog walks, trying new recipes, gardening, gym sessions and painting.

Hi, I'm Cara! I love working children at The Kidz Lounge and enjoy helping them grow in confidence, have fun and feel supported in a safe and caring environment. I enjoy getting involved in activities, encouraging friendships, and helping to make each day enjoyable for the children. In my spare time, I enjoy ice skating, baking and spending time with friends and family.
